4 Corners Environmental Issues Public Program

The Sierra Club is sponsoring another community meeting on the various environmental issues facing the 4 Corners region.
- Dan Lorimier, our lobbyist, will share his impressions of the recent State Legislature and how its decisions may affect you.
- Kristina Ortez, our Building Bridges to the Outdoors coordinator, will report on Sierra Student activities and the experiences of several volunteers working on the proposed Desert Rock coal plant.
- Margaret Gray, Northern staffer, will report on the complex battle at the Public Regulatory Commission over Renewable Energy Portfolio standards & third party distributed generation, and the just held EIB hearings to cap greenhouse gas emissions.
- Norma McCallan will update the coal combustion waste issue.
- A representative from Dine Care, Mike Eisenfeld from San Juan Citizens Alliance, and Andy Bessler, Sierra Partners staff, will all provide their insights on local issues. Elouise Brown, Dooda Desert Rock may also come.
