Katherine Wells: Life on the Rocks
7pm, Wednesday, September 1
Upstairs Meeting Rooms, Mesa Public Library
Katherine Wells is an artist and writer who also happened to have purchased a piece of property that she later learned has more than 6,000 petroglyphs. She has spent 20 years preserving and protecting the rock art in her area that is also a prime target for a well-known local businessman’s pumice operations. She put her money where her mouth is, and in 2007 donated 156 acres of her petroglyph patterned land to the Archaeological Conservancy. Come listen to Katherine talk about her adventures
