Sustainable Las Vegas, the local chapter of the New Mexico Solar Energy Association will be participating in the Las Vegas People's Faire on August 14th from 10:00 to 5:00 in Carnegie Park.

Sustainable Las Vegas will have demonstrations of solar and alternative energies from the Sun Chaser kit, as well as provide information on other sustainable topics. Popular demonstrations include a solar-powered water pump, cookies baked in a solar oven, and a model passive solar house. People's Faire celebrates local arts and crafts, but also includes artists from distant places, and hosts tables by many local non-profit organizations. Carnegie Park is the site of an historic Carnegie Library, modeled after Monticello. It is located on National Ave. between 5th and 6th St.
